The Holiday

I just finished watching The Holiday. It was sooo adorable. I actually watched it twice (well starting with the entrance of Jude Law on the 2nd time around). Two funny things that happened that aren't in the movie but that had to do with me watching the movie. The first is when Chris saw a preview of it and he said to me "I understand Jude Law but is Jack Black supposed to be cute?" in which I replied "No. He's just funny". But surprisingly, although not particularly attracted to Jack Black, he did become endearingly cute by the end of the movie because his character was adorable. And he was paired up with Kate Winslet who I also think was cute but in no way a representation of being a hottie. The hottie aspect was definitely portrayed in the Cameron Diaz and Jude Law couple. The second cute thing that happened was that Andrew woke up in the 2nd half of the movie and watched a bit of it with me. He has recently been on the brink of saying actual sentences so the cuteness factor of this will escape you unless you have been around him recently and heard his cute little talk as he works on sentences. But he turned to me after a couple of minutes of the movie and said "I don't like this. I like Mickey Mouse". To my defense of making my poor child endure my romantic comedy, he had already seen Mickey Mouse twice that day. Obviously three times would have been a charm for him.

Romantic comedies make me miss my away-on-a-business-trip hubby even more than normal. Hurry home, honey! Thanks for not getting eaten by the bear. Andrew and I appreciate that.

Next up in the Q are Secret Garden and Age of Innocence. Will probably watch in that order. Only because I can remember the Secret Garden and I don't recall whether or not I like Age of Innocence. I remember it being not as good as the book. Or maybe it was completely a butchering of the book. It's been 10 years since I read the book. So maybe I will like it more since I don't remember the book at all or whether or not the movie is like the book.
