Gardening

Today I decided to garden. There are several things I have noted about my gardening scheme.

1) I only like to weed. I think this is because it is the only thing that I know how to do. So year after year, I weed my one "flower" bed and it is one big dirt pile until all the weeds grow back in and then I start all over.
2) I am a perfectionist about my weeding. I wanted to make sure that I get out all green things so I dig and dig until I think all I can see is dirt. My dirt is getting lower and lower each year. I think I will soon find the core of the Earth. I get very excited when I see a complicated root system so that I can keep digging. Must get weed out.
3) My idea of a weed is anything that pulls up easily. I don't really know the difference between weeds and flowers. I think I discovered this year that impatiens also pull up easily.
4) I am amazed at how different kinds of weeds grow each year. Some are the same as last year but then I get new ones. I also have about 3 or 4 new monkey grass plants. Where the heck did these things come from? I think I have someone secretly gardening at night. HA! Wouldn't that be nice? Is monkey grass a weed? I don't think so. Don't you buy monkey grass? Still confused on how I got monkey grass.

I am going to try to make the yard look prettier this year. My mom has agreed to help. There can be no appreciation of how much we have let our yard fall by the wayside but here is how pretty it was when we bought it. http://www.ccraig.org/galleries/housepics/initial/p3250016.html
